Hey guys!
I would like to tell you that WoodRobo has been upgraded with a Vision System we just created. It can now "see". We (Me and my friend Asad Memon) created a custom Software, called Vision System for Robots, which can detect an object or a person and act accordingly.

WoodRobo 2.0 has a webcam, a laptop (Main processor), microcontroller and motor driving circuit.

Hey guys!

I am conducting a survey of the basic Electrical/Electronics concepts. This survey will be available to only selected students of 09 and 08 batches of Electronics students, MUET.

Why I am taking a survey?
A survey is supposed to be taken to evaluate, generate a report, in my case, I want to see how good the student of my department are, I have met a lot of guys who just like cramming and they don't have any good concepts. I really want to see that, how good we are, what more we need.

How can I participate?
This survey isn't available for everybody, it's just available to the TOP position holders students of the 09 and 08 batches of Electronic Department, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology.

Why just TOP position holders??
I know it's kinda injustice rest of the guys, but I think, those top guys represent the best among the whole class, so I gotta give the survey/test to the best among all.

Results?
Results will be announced when the survey is completed, by the end of September, the results will be posted here and everybody who participated will get to know it. The results of the individuals will be kept personal, the overall result will be shown to the public.

Hello guys!

Meet my second robot, "WoodRobo". If you haven't met my first robot, "Robot Buggy", it's here. WoodRobo follows the same objective as the previous robot did, to follow light. The new thing I tried, was using two different motors for turning and driving in a straight line.

Using IR with Arduino

Long time no talk ey? I have been enjoying a long, time to get back to work.

This time, I want to interface Arduino with IR technology. I used IRRemote Library, which you can get it from here, very easy to use.

Enjoy controlling your stuff with IR Remote Control ;)

My 4--Same-Transistor H-Bridge

I had to build H-Bridge, for those who don't know what is H-Bridge

An H-bridge is an electronic circuit which enables a voltage to be applied across a load in either direction. These circuits are often used in robotics and other applications to allow DC motors to run forwards and backwards. H-bridges are available as integrated circuits, or can be built from discrete components... more

In short, it is a Motor Driving Circuit, that enables Electronics to rotate motor forward and reverse.

I found Steve's 4 Transistor H-Bridge. Which has 2 PNP and 2 NPN transistors. I had problems when using two different kinds of Transistors. I had to drive the RC Car motor, which draws not much current, I needed something more simple, so I used same kind of NPN transistors (2N2222A).
Here's the figure

Note: The circuit has no diodes, which means your bridge is likely to be smoked :P I didn't use it, because RC Motor didn't hurt my circuit.

To run the motor, connect A to Power, and leave the B unconnected. To run in reverse direction, connect B to power, and leave the B unconnected. Simple as that. You can use this bridge to control your motor from a microcontroller or signals.

I haven't had any stress test on this one, feel free to experiment on your own.
This is the most simplest H-Bridge on internet as far as I have seen.
